Textile exhibition "Kuosien juhla - Pattern Party" Forssan Museo, Forssan in Finland 6.5.-3.6. 2022

" Cultural heritage and women's history from Sweden and Finland Mönsterfest is a textile exhibition highlighting a Finnish and Swedish cultural heritage from the 1930s to the late 1980s. The exhibition begins in the 1930s in Dora Jung's studio at Högbergsgatan 19 in Helsinki. It then continues through two decades of small-scale patterns in soft colours that characterise the 1940s and 1950s. The FinnishSwedish textile designer Viola Gråsten revolutionised colour in Stockholm 1952 with her "Oomph" pattern before it really took off with colourful patterns in both Finland and Sweden in the 1960s and 1970s. The pattern party ends in the "happy 80s" with Finnish textile duo Studio Ulla & Stina who gave Finnish homes textiles with text and feeling....
